Breaking down stereotypes and building confidence!

Construction Managers take the architect’s vision and make it a reality. With one of the highest job placement rates and starting salaries of any major at Colorado State University, a degree in Construction Management is a great choice for young women who enjoy teamwork, solving tangible problems, critical thinking, and creating the world around them.

In this institute, young women will develop confidence in their abilities and gain an understanding of their opportunities in construction management and related fields through field trips, classroom sessions, and hands-on activities.

Past institutes have included activities such as:
*Form a lamp from concrete and a wiring kit
*Build an industrial bookend utilizing saws and drills
*Experience using a digger, welder, scissor lift, tamper, and other construction equipment
*Learn the fundamentals of print reading
*Use virtual reality goggles to explore construction plans
*Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to contribute toward building a home
*Tour a construction job site
