Conventional Lego robotics provides a conceptual platform to explore non-conventional applications of robotics. Robot movement relies on motor control, focusing on robot construction and maintenance. Motor control dictates the movement of the robot, tactile sensors provide control. Operations emphasize touch and sonic sensors to control the motor functions required to turn the head. The goal of this project is to design and construct a robotic head that tracks the approach of a person and turns without human interference to look at the person. Your performance will be based on the team’s ability to successfully turn the head. For those entering grades 10-12 in the Fall of 2018.
