Inspire Colorado in a non-partisan organization that trains and supports students to register their peers to vote.
We work with more than 35 schools across Colorado to create cultures of voter registration and voting within schools. We have partnered with the Colorado Secretary of State to administer an award to high schools that have 85% of eligible seniors registered to vote. In just under two years since the award was created, we have helped 14 senior classes register 85% or more of eligible seniors!
18 to 34 year olds are the largest age-based voting bloc in the country. We want to help amplify their voices and increase voter turnout for young people.
Our program is project focused. Some students are able to organize and implement voter registration drives in a few days. Other students engage with us throughout the school year creating and implementing voter engagement activities around elections to ensure that the peers they registered cast their ballots.
*Colorado law allows 16 and 17 year olds who are U.S. citizens to pre-register to vote.
